  2. Potatoes 4-3-'38.

    Potatoes are usually sown in the district during the month of April. At first the ground is ploughed and harrowed and then the drills are opened with the plough. Sometimes the farmer spreads the farm- yard manure in the furrows before spreading the "sgiollans" but mostly the sgiollans are spread first and covered with a little clay,and then the manure is spread and covered with more clay
