    Marriages 17-2'38.
    Marriages in the country district at any rate take place generally in Shrove or the weeks following Christmas and up to lenten season.The months of November and May are considered unlucky in the country and there is an old rhyme that says
    "Marry in May and youll rue the day".
    generally about 757 of country marriages are what is called made matches .When a farmer gives his daughter to another young farmer ,and with her fortune according to his means generally a hundred or two hundred pounds according to the extent of the bridegroom land and stock
