    The name of the village in which I live is Ballyforan. It is situated almost on the banks of the river Suck which is a tributary of the Shannon. It is not very large. There are six business houses, a public house, a post office and a hall, two schools, a Catholic Church, a parish priests residence, a Garda barracks and a courthouse in it. There is a place named 'Fraoch' situated just outside the village. It is a rocky place of fairly large extent and covered with rocks as its name tells us. There are several caves supposed to exist and gold is also supposed to lie hidden there. Not so long ago
