  1. I live in the townland of Carrenterriff in the Parish of Dysart, and in the Barony of Athlone. There are eighteen families living in this townland.
    There are sixty-nine people living in it.
    people living in it. There are two slated houses and sixteen thatched houses in this townland. It is called in Irish Ceathrú An Tairbh, because a bull used to be kept there by a rich man who lived in Cloonagh near by. There are five old people over seventy living in it. But none of them know Irish now.
