  1. A man named Patrick Connor lived in the village of Feevagh in this parish about one hundred fifty years ago. He had two sheep and he wanted very much to sell them.
    He decided to bring them to the fair of Ballinasloe. When the fair-day came it was so wet that nobody went to the fair but Connor himself. He did go and stood all day in the fairgreen with his two sheep. Of course he did not sell them.
