  1. Various bands of tinkers come around this parish. The best known of them are the Wards, the Mc. Donagh's, the Mongans, Sweeneys and Cawleys.
    The above families of tinkers have been coming for generations and are now as numerous as ever. They own horses and asses and have spring carts for them.
    They live in tents which they errect on the roadside. The men make articles of tin and sell them. The women
