    so a second ploughing is not required. Then he opens the drills with the plough. The manure is then carted out from the yard and spread along in the "alleys". The slits, or sets, are then left along at intervals of one foot, on the manure. They are then closed with the plough. When the stalks are about six inches high they are moulded with the plough.
