    walk a piece with him and often when Tom sat eating his supper the ghost would come and look in through the kitchen window at him and even come and sit beside him at the fire. The ghost began to get wicked and Tom became afraid. So he decided to see a priest. The priest arranged to question him so twelve men were gathered in Grandad's yard, Grandad was one of them. The priest made a ring with holy water and commenced questioning. He asked Tom if the ghost had come and where he was. Tom said he was beside Peter Herbert. Poor Peter gave an awful yell and fainted. The priest asked some questions and they could hear Tom saying, "Yes I forgive you, I forgive you from my heart." Tom said he went away then laughing and as he went away he could hear his laugh dying away in the distance and that was the last he saw of him.
