  1. The Local Forge
    There are two forges in Elphin parish. Ned Mc Cormac and Paddy Teirnan are the smiths. Paddy Teirnans people have been smiths for years.
    Ned Mc Cormacks forge is in Chapel St, Elphin and the other is on the Newline.
    They are built near crossroads. They are built beside streams called the "Coshliens" adn the "Spout".
    They have galvanised iron roofs, double doors and flat hearths. The bellows are oval shaped and have two handles. His implements are a hammer, tongs, pincers, pliers, pikes and axes. Forge water has a cure
