  1. When our Lord was sentenced to death the jews went to the black-smiths to make the nails to nail Him to the cross. They refused to make the nails so the jews went to the tinkers and asked them to make the nails. They did so. Ever since the tinkers are cursed and are always a wandering tribe. Tradition has it that the blacksmith had great power ever afterwards.We are told they had the power of turning the anvil on anybody who would do them an injury and by doing so
