Burning Beans and nuts is one form of amusement.
The black beans represents a man - the white one a woman. They are placed side by side after being named (to who are friendly or as they sometimes say pulling a string) if they stay together they will be married - if they flee they will not.
Burning lead was another game. Melt the lead and pour into cold water - shapes taken make fun.
