    (1) The frogs appear dark.
    (2) When the frogs spawns near the edge of the pond it indicates that wet summer may be expected.

    (4) When the mist hands long on the Loc-an-lae – a distant mountain to the S. East a wet day may be expected. Farmers say sadly "There is a 'cap' on the Loc-an-lae
    5. The midges seem more plentiful + bite more wickedly before rain.
    6. When there is a hale round moon or
    7. When the old moon shines with the new one.
    8. When the new moon shows on its back.
    9. When the cat washes behind her ears.
    10. When the dog drinks water.
    11. When the stars fall at night.
    12. When the wind is blowing from South or West.
