  1. Long ago baskets were made from sally rods that were cut from the hedges. A man named Regan from Shercock district made creels and baskets. First he platted the rods and made them into a circle. He then put the circles together by putting a rod up and down crossing one plait each time. The he had the basket made. Creels were made from sally rods. The sally rods were plaited on a square frame. There was a small handle attached to them.
