    in Ballybay there is a special green for cattle only. There are also cattle yard in which you have to pay three pence a head for every cow or calf put in.
    Long ago toll was paid at every fair it is not paid nowadays. When the cattle are sold there is a "luck penny" given and it is generally two shillings or half a crown. When a horse is sold there is oftentimes as much as ten shillings given as a luck penny. When a bargain is a making and when the buyer and seller can not agree as to the price a third man steps in a catches the right hand of one and the left one of the other and makes them agree not to break his word and the bargain is often made as a result of his intervention.
