  1. The fairs are held locally in the towns. People still buy animals in the country at crossroads or at farmers' house. This is still done. There are no traditions of fairs on hills in the neighbourhood of cemeteries or castle, forts etc. In the towns the fairs are held in special places. Toll is not paid on sold cattle. Luck-money is given when an animal is sold. It is called a luck-penny. It is not calculated the people give it of their own accord. When a bargain has been made the parties spit on their hands and strike hands. Some people mark the cattle with keel or with scissors.
