Peig rushes up, they all fly o'er, and then a rattling pace,
Goes Terry Alt and Gray Beard now foremost in the race.
And races are but swift and enter is proverb.
Mick and Maurice in the mud have calmly gone to bed.
Whetstone too has got a roll but up he is again.
To follow Rover rushing on upon the open plain.
The Creeper is done, Peig tears along and she and Rover fly.
Over walls, fences, bushes and brakes and many a cheering cry.
The last is reached and they all did fly away.
And the Rover still the foremost comes the winner of the day.
