  1. (continued from previous page)
Those of a family who find it impossible to come home send money to their parents, and during the twelve days of the festive season they communicate with one another by means of Christmas and New Year cards, so that the Christmas season in every way is most enjoyable. On that night everyone remains up until midnight at which time the Rosary is recited in honour of the the newly born child.
On St. Stephen's Day young boys calling themselves "Wren Boys" go about, disguised, from door to door collecting money. This the special day parties and dances.
On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day lights once more are in evidence. On New Year's Day the children receive Holy Communion. Anyone quarreling on this day is supposed to do so for the year.
The Epiphany which is called the "Twelfth Day" is the last but by no means the least of the feasts.
