- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Catherine that Lady Caprel is dead." When the old man went home he told his wife that an old cat jumped up on the wall and said to tell Lady Catherine that Lady Caorek was dead. There was an old cat in the corner and on hearing this he gave a mew and went out the door and never was seen again.
- 18 How to make Boxy
First get the potatoes and wash them very cleanly. Next peel them and get a rasp and scrape them. When they are all scraped put the boxty into a basin with a little salt and add as much flour as well do it and make a cake of it. Then get a knife and cut the cake in four squares. Then bake it in a hot oven until it becomes a golden brown on each side. Serve very hot with butter and tea or coffee. Long ago people always drank milk with boxty as tea and coffee were then unknown.- Bailitheoir
