  1. There was a large farm near Ballindoon where the small farmers from the neighbouring districts kept a cow each. After a time the men noticed that their cows had no milk when they went to milk them each morning, so they decided to watch through the night for whatever might happen.
    At about five o'clock in the morning a hare cantered along the field and sucked the cows. The next morning the farmers brought the best greyhounds of the place and lay waiting. At the very same time as the morn-
