  1. About a hundred years ago there were fairies in a fort in front of John Connolly's house in Wrumcraneel. One day Patrick Connolly, John's father was digging the fort field for potatoes. Every sod he'd turn the fairies came along and turned it back again. When they went away Patrick turned them back again, but the fairies undid his work again. At last he had to give it up.
