    when a cycling corps from Boyle
    Took up positions around the town to search the houses all.
    And on approaching Dockery, the Tommies in surprise
    Cried "That is Comdt. Dockery, we'll have him for murder tried."
    Then they placed him on lorries to convey him safe to Boyle
    Which they commandeered from garage erected round Cootehall.

    When Dockery arrived in Boyle he was hand cuffed in a cell
    With barbed wire around him as they meant to guard him well
    And as he stretched his active limb and realized his sad downfall.
    He cures the night he halted for refreshments in Cootehall
