   About a mile from my house in Screebog, Moynalty, Co. Meath there is a lovely lake called Whitewood. From the following story however, it is sometimes called "The Lady Lake". One night many years ago Lady Pratt was coming home from a ball. She rode a beautiful white horse. She rode, as most beautiful ladies often rode in those days, alone, and without fear of being molested. As she came to the lake she went down to give
