This means of churning is not often used now-a-days as the people have adopted more modern methods, but it was a great way for saving labour. - Proceeding from Kingscourt to Baileboro' by the mountain road is the hill of Loughran Leagh rising to a height of 1,600 ft. In this remote locality an oratory formerly existed. It was founded about 1300 A.D. by Gillia Jison(?) O'Reylie, Dynast of Breffni, and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin.
