  1. Shortly after the cursing episode Henry Keane addressed 13 questions to the Roman Catholic Clergymen of the Parishes of Moyarta, Killballyowen, Kilfiera and Killard, County Clare and the Roman Catholic Parishioners in the said parishes. His object, he said, in putting the questions was to serve the cause of truth and terminate unprofitable discussion. The questions were printed in pamphlet form and distributed through the "souper" school and by such of those Catholics who had "turned" to the new faith. The Protestant Minister at that time in Kilbaha was the Rev. Mr. Simon Fossett. He and Henry Keane who was the Landlord's brother were the arch proselytisers of the time in this district. Keane was
