    there is a rhyme about seeing a pin on the road
    "See a pin and pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck.
    See a pin and let it lie and you'll have bad luck until you die."
    I heard nothing about hair-pins.
    Some people say it is lucky to find silver coins.
    When you see the new moon you should say:-
    "I see the new moon and the new moon sees me.
    God bless the new moon and God bless me."
