    Burns. Hold the burn to the fire and the fire will prevent the burn from blistering.
    Thorns. Cut a slice of bacon and place it on the spot where the thorn is and the bacon will draw the thorn out.
    Stye. Get ten gooseberry thorns and point nine of them to the stye in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Then thrown the tenth thorn across your left shoulder
    Horse's Sores. Get the bark of an oak tree and make tea with the bark. Then rub the tea on the horse's hide to make it tough.
    Whooping Cough. Whooping Cough must go to a married couple's house who were of the same sur-name before they were married and ask for a piece of bread and butter which shall be eaten by the old person suffering from Whooping Cough
