  1. Long ago shops were not as common as they are now. The shops long ago were called "Shebeens" and that is where the people got all their wants,. Buying was never carried on after Mass on Sundays because the people said it would break the Sabboth.
    Sometimes the people would run up a bill in the shop and the way they would pay was to give a calf to the creditor.
    Hucksters are still plentiful around this district. Some men come to this town in a lorry gathering rags and
