  2. In the cows' byre the floor is cemented and ther is a manger. There is a ring in the manger and a chain attached to it. There is a hook on the end, to which the chain that is put round the cow's neck is tied.
    When a cow is sick and is kept in a shed an ivy branch is thrown into her and she eats that and when she is let out she gives the full
