One night Mrs Owen Rudden from Moodogue Ballyjamesduff was on a visit to a house in Lacken. When she had her visit made, at about twelve oclock in the night she started for home. The woman of the house left her about a quarter of a mile from the house and when they were parting an object in the form of an ass, passed them on the road. When the two women had parted Mrs Rudden came on her way home. At about a mile from the town the object that passed them on the road stepped out from the side of the road and walked along with her.
