  1. When Our Saviour was born in Bethlehem, one of the shepherds brought a little lamb and presented it to Jesus. When they had to fly from Herod the Blessed Virgin gave the lamb to a little boy who lived in Nazareth to take care of it in their absence. After their return from Egypt the little boy gave back the lamb to Jesus who was delighted and used to kiss and fondle him. After some time the lamb took ill and died and Jesus cried much for him when he died. The lamb would even follow Jesus to the Temple.
