    away, they would shout for Niall Smith and if he would hear them he would set out with his horse and sword. If the "revenue' men were taking their cattle for the rent, Niall would come, and would take back the cattle and give them to the people that owned them. Wherever he went to fight he won the battle.
    He would be in every market in Cavan and Ballyjamesduff, and when he would be coming home he would shout the price of everything. He could be heard two or three miles away.
