    call to our house are called gypsies. These people go about in families with horses and vans, two and three calling to each house at a time. They tell fortunes. They are black-featured. They say they came from Africa.

  2. Travelling folk still call to our home. These people have been doing so for about ten years. They are generally very poor, but some of them sell small articles. Sometimes people buy from them. They obtain their supplies in cheap houses in town. These travellers were seldom welcomed. They sell gallons, porringers, and basins. They beg tea, sugar, bacon and flour. Some of them travel
