  1. Local Cures
    In former times people diid not go to the doctor for everything they had to get cured. They were wise enough to seek remedies for their ailments as follows.
    Whooping-cough: A very good cure for the whooping-cough is to eat the food left behind by the ferret. Another is to put the person with the cold in and out between the legs of an ass-foal for three times.
    Thrush: The seventh daughter of a family has the cure for the thrush also has the posthumous child.
    Worms: The seventh son has the cure for the worms.
    Indigestion: To chew a burned stick cures indigestion.
    Herbs were also used as local cures. Slán Lus: cures a sick stomach.
    Plantain leaf: It is a cure for sores.
