  1. I have heard this account from Mrs. Brady about the battle of Finea. The direction to take from Cavan to this bridge of Finea is to turn east from this school to St. Colman's road walk on four miles on this road and then turn to the left for Crossdoney, then from Crossdoney turn to the right for the bridge of Finea. There is a ring on every side of it and this ring is one of the huge rough stones. This is the poem Mrs. Brady told me about this battle.
    When brave Miley O Reilly he
    heard they were coming.
    He assembled his army and made no delay.
    Each warrior swore by the great God of battle before they'd reach
    Cavan he'd die at Finea
