  1. My townland is called " Licín ".
    There are small flagstones in the ground that is how it got its name " Licín "
    There is level land about it and it is dry. There are three farmers houses in it and our house is a cottage.
    The farmers houses are built of clay, and one of them is thatched. the others are covered with iron.
    " Licín " is between three townlands they are:
    Moneystown, Castlekevin and Trooperstown.
    Our house is between two roads on one of them there is a spring well where we get the water.
    There is a bog in " Licín " which is called the Commons Bog a lot of people get turf there because each farmer owns a bank on the bog. There is a house in it, and it is called MacEntee's house where a man of that name lived long ago.
    It is said that one night a man by the name of Mr. Dan Byrne of Trooperstown was going home from Mr. Doyle's father's wake he saw a man going about that old house and he went in to see who is...
