  1. There are not very many Holy Wells in the district and the few that are there is little known about them.
    There is a holy well in Ballinastoe and if you had a headache or toothache dip your finger into the well and put it to the affected part and it will cure it.
    There is another holy well up an old road in Roundwood and they say it is not proper to pass it by without blessing yourself
    There is also a holy well in Knockatemple near the old church. But I never heard if there are any cures in it.
    There is a holy well in Mullinaveugue and there is a cure for vomiting in it.
