  2. Fifty years ago there used to be a fork used on the farm with a very long handle short grained. It was chiefly used for pitching oats and passed from one homestead to another according as required - It was called the "rambling" pitch fork and there is a tune of that name. a jig called "The Rambling Pitchfork"
