- There is a man, named Mr. Jackson living in Castlequarter, who has a field beside his house, called "the church field". In the middle of this field there are five or six trees in a ring. Inside the trees is a low wall. There is a stone on the wall and a spoon cut in it.
Once, when Mr. Jackson was building a cow-house, he put the stone in the wall. That night the cattle began to roar. He went out and saw nothing - so went in again. The cattle began to roar again. He went out and saw nothing. He let out the cattle and next day left back the stone. Nothing ever happened after.- Collector
