Miss Whittle of Studfield was sent for a message to Mrs. Hegharty's shop. She was going home behind two men as she was very nervous When she went as far as where the new church is now. She saw five little men and they walking in a row inside the ditch in Mr. Harrington's field. When they went to the hollow of the field they disappeared.
She went home and told her father and mother their descriptions. They were very neatly dressed with Green-coats, long red caps
