  1. There is a Moat on the land called the Ball Moat.
    A very old man, by the name, Harry Cardell, who was a "process server", told my father that it was thought there was money hid in it. So some men wnet to dig on it, and it was in the night they were digging, and a black bull run them off it. The hole remains there to this day and was never filled up. It was not any neighbour's bull.

    Three of four little furze branches tied together with a briar.
    Faggotting was a trade.
    In olden times, and even up to 30 years ago, bakers used faggotts of furze to heat the ovens.
