  1. One day a smith named James Doyle of Rathmore was shoeing a horse. He looked out towards the road and saw his father who lived in Graney about five miles away. He went out to him. The father then disappeared. James Doyle went then to Graney and found that his father had died at the very hour that he saw him at the forge.
James Doyle is now about seventy six years of age. When his father died he was forty. He told me this story six months ago.
