  1. The period in this district most usual for marriages to take place is before Lent and Advent. Monday and Saturday are the most unsisuable days to get married on as they are considered unlucky. Matches are very often made in this district. Money and stock is given as a dowry by the very rich people. Some years ago marriages feasts were held in the brides house Nowadays they go off on their honeymoon the morning they are married. Bottle blowing is used only when the marriage is unpopular.
