  1. Consumption: (1) Boil mullion leaves in milk and drink it. (2) Dig a foot deep in lea ground and breath over it every morning.
    Wildfire: Go to a person whose father and mother had the same surname. He or she will draw blood and rub it into the affected part. (2) Forge water (3) Burned wheat.
    Toothache: (1) Put garlic into your shoe
    (2) Rub garlic behind your ears
    (3) Drink ice cold water
    Whittloe: Dip in very hot potato water
    A cold: Drink scalded buttermilk
    Sore throat: Pot fried salt tied up in a stocking and wound round the neck
    Hoarseness: Drink new milk and sugar boiled. Beat white of egg to a stuff froth with sugar and eat it.
    Sore or stuff knee: Rub with goose grease.
    Chilblains: Rub with hogs lard dipped in pepper.
    Whooping cough: Food got form two married persons of the same name but not related to one another.
    A cough: Sit with feet up to the knees in hot water. Keeping more hot water added for about 1/2 of an hour. Then get into bed between blankets and remain in bed a couple of days. Drink scalded buttermilk.
