  1. Churning
We have an end over end churn at home, it is about 5ft tall and 5ft four inches in circumference. The sides are straight, it is about twenty years old. There is the churn itself and the dash and the lid. A neighbour has an old fashioned dash churn. There are no marks on the sides of the churn or on the bottom of it.
Butter is made twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter, my mother does the churning and when people come in, if we are ,churning they take a turn at the churn. If they do it is said that they cannot take the butter.
