  1. Old Graveyards
    There is one very old graveyard in this district. It is "Kilcoleman Churchyard". It was founded by St. Colman in the year 570. His father was Aengus King of Munster. His mother's name was Darenia. This churchyard is situated about 3 miles from Birr.
    It is still in use. It is square shaped. There are ruins of an old church in it. It slopes to the south-west. There are a couple of trees in it.
    There are some old headstones in it. Some of them are ornamented, there are leaves and flowers carved on them. There is one iron cross in the graveyard. There are three or four graves inside the church. There are about fifty graves with no headstones to them. There are a couple of
