    Father Crotty was excommunicated or expended by the Bishop. He had a Parish he had another chapel in Birr in Castle Street. The Chapel in Lacha was not destroyed by Cromwell. Fr Crotty was married to a Protestant + had two daughters + one of them had the birth mark of a chalice + there was a girl got to mind the two children + he heard her singing a Catholic hymn one day + after that he got depressed + went away. It is about 120 years ago Protestants backed him up + some Catholic's . It was a separate Parish.
    The hang-man tree can be identified but it is mouldered away no brands It is a long time since the man
