    That school opened on 18-8-1851 still stands. Mrs Coughlan of Alley's Lane Roscrea told me about 1930 when she was over ninty years of age that she remembered the school to be three one-roomed houses which were joined, and their yard is the present playground. In addition 16ft by 9 was later added but there
