  1. Local Happenings.
    About five years ago a boy whose name was O'Rourke was drowned in the Shannon. The boy was only nineteen years of age when he was drowned. He lived in some part of Lusmagh. The accident occurred when he got in to bathe in the river.
    Several attempts were made to rescue him but all failed. The boy was deeply regretted by the rest of the O'Rourke's.
