    What goes up when the rain comes down?
    An umbrella.
    Long legs, short tights, little head and no eyes?
    A tongs.
    It came in on the shoulders of the people and went out as smooth as silk?
    Turf.
    I went up the road and I came down and I took the road on my back?
    A ladder.
    What sleeps on it's head every night?
    The nails of your boots.
    On green gravel I do travel I rode a mare that never foaled and I held the bridle in my hand?
    A ship on the ocean.
    Under the sky and over the ground and still never touches the sky or the ground?
    A handle of a pump.
