  1. The district in which I live is situated about a mile and a half outside the town of Clara. It is called Ballinough - the town of the hills.
    There are eleven different families living in it. In former years there were about twenty families living in it . There are about fifty people living in it now.
    Five of these people are over seventy, and one woman is eighty-six. Every one of these are farmers, and there was once a man lived there who could speak Irish.
    In the townsland there is a wood called "Doorey Wood" and a lake called "Lough Couch". The houses are all thatched and built near each other.
    The common name among the people is Colgan. There are
